The Food Safety Committee of the Arab Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) will hold a meeting here on Monday. The Committee will focus on issues pertaining to food safety including the required health measures on the imported food commodities, health certificates of meat, fish and eggs exported to the GCC states in addition to the obligatory conditions for import of meat and its derivatives. On the other hand, the Committee will review means of establishing an independent general commission for an integrated food supervision system for all GCC countries. The GCC is made up of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman.
