Talks for import of 1000 megawatt electricity by Pakistan from Tajikistan will be held between senior leaders of the two countries in Tajikistan next week, an official statement said. A Pakistani delegation led by Minister for Water and Power Liaquat Ali Jatoi will visit Tajikistan to discuss the matter. Pakistan has carried out a feasibility study of the project and holds the view that import of 1000 MW power at cheaper rates from Tajikistan would provide the electricity to the people of far-flung areas and to eliminate power cuts.
