A Saudi relief plane arrived here today carrying 75 tons of relief assistance. In line with the directives of the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques King Fahd bin Abdulaziz, the relief assistance will be distributed to victims of the earthquake and tsunami which recently hit the Indonesian Island of Sumatra. Sami Al-Hareth, the representative of the Saudi Red Crescent Society, said the Saudi relief assistance includes tents, blankets and medical supplies in addition to power generators. He pointed out that relief assistance will be distributed in cooperation with the Indonesian Red Crescent Society. It is worth mentioning that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has sent similar relief assistance to victims of tsunami in the Maldives, Sri Lanka and Thailand.
