In line with the royal directives to provide aid to the affected countries recently hit by an earthquake and a tsunami in south Asia, two cargo planes, each one loaded with 75 tons of Saudi aid including foodstuffs, medicines, tents, blankets and relief materials, left Riyadh today for the Maldives and Indonesia. The two planes come within the Saudi relief airlift started on Saturday. Earlier this week, three planes, each one laden with 75 tons of relief materials, left for Sri Lanka and Thailand on Saturday and Monday. It is note worthy that the Kingdom has increased its aid to the affected countries from 10 to 30 U.S. million dollars.
