A ship carrying 334,511 ton of relief materials left the Islamic Port of Jeddah last week. The relief materials will be distributed to victims of the earthquake in Sri lanka. Dr Abdulrahman Al-Suweilim, the President of the Saudi Red Crescent Society, said the relief assistance comes within the framework of the assistance extended by the Saudi people to victims of tsunami in the east Asian countries. He noted that the relief materials included tents, clothes, medical supplies, and food materials like dates, milk, rice and macaroni. Meanwhile, a ship carrying 82,794 ton of relief assistance, including food materials and clothes, left the Islamic Port of Jeddah, while a ship carrying 477,516 ton of relief assistance left King Abdulaziz Port of Dammam last week for Indonesia. The relief assistance, which included tents, milk, clothes, blankets and food materials, will be distributed to victims of tsunami in Indonesia.
