The council of the regional commission for preserving the environment of the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden concluded its deliberations in Amman today. In a statement to Saudi Press Agency, Prince Turki bin Nasir bin Abdulaziz, General President of the commission, said the appointment of Dr. Ziyad Abu Ghararah, the Saudi candidate, as secretary general of the commission was among the distinguished decisions of the meeting. He said the council approved a regional program to monitor environment in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden region and keep control on sea pollution.
