The Saudi International Company for Methanol, an affiliate of the Saudi International Company for Petrochemicals, has started commercial operation for its factory with a productive capacity of 2,950 metric tons per day under international standards and specifications. The Company's Japanese partner has agreed to market most of the factory's production. Sixty percent of the company's personnel are Saudis. It is worth mentioning that the International Saudi Company for Methanol is a joint venture between the Saudi International Company for Petrochemicals, which own 65 percent of the capital, and the Arab-Japanese Company for Methanol, which owns 35 percent of the capital. The Saudi International Company for Petrochemicals, is a Saudi stock company, which was established in 1999 with a paid up capital of SR 650 million. The company is concerned with petrochemical and chemical industries, as well as hydro-carbonic basic industries.
