The President of the Arab Parliament Adel Abdulrahman Al-Asoomi announced that the Executive Committee of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) recognized, during a meeting here today, the Yemeni Parliament as the legitimate representative of Yemeni people within IPU, stressing that this unprecedented achievement came as a culmination of diplomatic efforts made by the Arab Parliament to support Yemen in the largest international parliamentary forums. Al-Asoumi said, in a statement, that this important step will have great effect as regards the representation of Yemeni people in the meetings of IPU, as well as its handling of the Yemeni issues in general, and mobilizing international support for the Arab country at the parliamentary level.
