Shoura Speaker said also that "We need unity and cooperation at all levels and make greater joint parliamentary efforts to strengthen the role of the IPU in the interaction with the international issues of interest to our international community,"
Dr. Al Al-Sheikh expressed the hope that these meetings culminated in a success in order to achieve the objectives of IPU in prevailing international security and peace, preventing conflicts and maintaining the fundamental principles of human rights.
The 126th session of IPU General Assembly, hosted by Kampala, discusses a number of files topped by the situation in Syria, and the role of parliamentarians in supporting the international efforts of the United Nations and the Arab League to resolve the Syrian crisis.
It also discusses the current global political and economic situations and finds ways to bridge the gap between the parliaments and peoples.
