A blast ripped through a home in a restive Pakistani tribal region on Sunday, injuring an army officer, as troops continued a weapons search that has netted more than 3,000 kilograms (6,600 pounds) of explosives and large quantities of ammunition in recent days, officials said. The officer lost his legs in the explosion at Langarkhel village, about 70 kilometers (45 miles) northeast of Wana, the main town in South Waziristan tribal region, an intelligence official said on condition of anonymity. An army spokesman could not immediately confirm the incident, according to a report of the Associated Press.
