A blast possibly caused by mishandled explosives ripped through a suspected militant compound in northwestern Pakistan on Saturday, killing at least five men and a woman, a Pakistani army official said. The explosion occurred in the tribal village of Mosaki, about 20 kilometers (12 miles) east of Miran Shah, the main town in the North Waziristan tribal region, the army official said, speaking on condition of anonymity because he is not authorized to speak to news media. Four of the victims were believed to be foreigners but their identities were not immediately known, the army official was quoted as saying in Peshawar.
