Two bombs exploded near army convoys and assailants fired rockets at a Pakistani military base in a restive tribal region, injuring two civilians, officials said Friday. A bomb exploded close to a bazaar in Wana, the main town in South Waziristan tribal region, as army trucks and jeeps were driving past, injuring a passer-by, an army official said on condition of anonymity from Rawalpindi, a city where the army is headquartered. There was no damage to the convoy. Another improvised explosive device went off near an army convoy in Kani Guram, an area north of Wana, but no one was hurt.
