Saudi Grains Organization (SAGO) has completed procedures for importing 860,000 tons of wheat, representing the fifth and last tender for 2020, from the European Union, Australia, the Black Sea, North and South America; except Canada. Governor of SAGO Eng. Ahmad Abdulaziz Al-Fares stated today that the amount specified in the tender is distributed to 14 ships ; eight ships with the amount of 490,000 tons for Jeddah Islamic Port and six ships with the amount of 370,000 tons for King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam, to be supplied during the period of February- March 2021. The Governor also said that this tender comes as an extension to efforts to maintain the strategic reserve of wheat.
