Spokesperson of the Border Guard Lieutenant Colonel Mesfer bin Ghannam Al-Quraini stated that in the context of the continuous security follow-up of the criminal activities targeting the kingdom with narcotics, the investigations of the border guards resulted in the uncovering of a plot to smuggle a large quantity of narcotic hashish into the kingdom through the southern borders. The spokesperson added that the necessary measures were taken in accordance with a joint security plan with the General Directorate for Narcotics Control, and with the grace of God, this criminal scheme was thwarted and the narcotic substances that amounted to (948) kilograms of hashish were seized, and the person who received them was arrested. He is a citizen with previous convictions in the Riyadh region, the spokesperson said.
