The border guards in Jazan region have managed to thwart an attempt to smuggle more than half a ton of hashish and to arrest those involved in the fishing profession to mislead the security men. The spokesman of the border guards, Colonel Saher bin Mohammed Al-Harbi, said that the smugglers, seven of them, including five Saudis and two Yemeni nationals, were arrested while trying to hide a total 350 kilos of hashish material and burying them in an island of Fursan chain of islands. Another quantity of 268 kg of hashish was also seized after found hidden in another location, bringing the total of the smuggled substance to 618 kg.
