Dr. Abdulaziz Hamad Aluwaisheg, GCC Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Negotiations, led the Riyadh-based Arab Gulf Countries Council (GCC) senior officials meeting with Britain's Minister of State for the Middle East at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office Alistair Burt. During the strategic partnership meeting held in Wilton Park on 9th-10th, April, they reviewed achievements of the strategic partnerships between the two sides in 2017 and the partnership priorities between the two sides. They also discussed proposals of the meetings, events and workshops in 2018 within the framework of areas of cooperation in security, defense, humanitarian and developmental affairs, trade, environment and relations among the peoples. They also discussed the regional issues of common interest. The meeting dealt with the GCC national transformational plans in the areas of trade and investment. The UK delegation briefed the GCC delegation on the plans related to Britain's exit from the European Union. The participants also affirmed the importance of consolidating strategic and cooperation partnership between the GCC and UK.
