Yemeni army and popular resistance disclosed today that they have tightened their grip on Taiz-located air defense camp, a strategic military facility in the north west of the besieged city. Yemen's state-run news agency quoted Major General Khalid Fadhil, commander of Taiz military sector, as saying that the concerted offensive coerced the Houthi militias and forces loyal to deposed president Ali Saleh to retreat from the battle scene, leaving a number of fatalities and injured in action. Highlighting the militarily significance of the site, Major Fadhil said the location overlooks most of the mountainous chains surrounding the city of Taiz. He drew the attention that this victory was a result of the courage of the army and resistance as well as the assistance of the Arab coalition airstrikes.
