The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has strongly condemned the twin terrorist attacks on 28 February 2016 on a restaurant in Baidoa, South West Somalia which killed 30 innocent people and injured over 61 others. In a statment to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the OIC Secretary General, Iyad Ameen Madani who expressed dismay at the horrendous attack claimed by Al-Shabab militants, denounced their act as criminal and callous. He noted that Somalis are trying to rebuild their country and these militants should join the peace building process and think of what is good for the country. The OIC Secretary General while conveying his deep sympathy to the families of the deceased as well as the government of Somalia, prayed for the quick recovery of those injured. He also appealed to the authorities to intensify their counter terrorism efforts and reassured them of the determination of the OIC to continue to support them in the restoration of durable peace, stability and development to Somalia.
