AlQa'dah 18, 1436, Sep 2, 2015, SPA -- The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has strongly condemned the attack by Al-Shabaab militants yesterday on the Janale military base of the African Union Peace keeping Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) in the South-West of the country resulting in the loss of lives of several Ugandan peacekeepers. OIC Secretary General Iyad bin Ameen Madani, while extending his sincere condolences to the families of these heroes of peace, conveyed his deep sympathy to the government and people of Uganda and urged them to sustain their morale and commitment to the cause of durable peace in Somalia. The Secretary General reassured Somali authorities and the international community of the determination of the OIC to continue to actively support the stabilization efforts by intensifying its contributions towards peace building in this OIC Member State.
