The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) and the Omani news agency shared the first place as the best Arab news agency in the touristy field in the local and Arab arena. This was announced by Hussein Al-Manaee, the Chairman of the Arab Center for Touristy Media, in a press conference held in the Jordanian capital of Amman today following a special ceremony to announce the winners of the center's prizes for 2015 under the patronage of Jordan's Minister of Tourism Naif Al-Naif and Jordan's Chairman of the Tourism Promotion Commission Dr. Abdulrazzaq Arabiyat. The center's prizes are the biggest and most important granted to government personalities, institutions and commissions and Arab landmarks and cities in the field of tourism. A number of Arab dignitaries, commissions and media institutions have obtained the center's prizes in the past. Al-Manaee said in the conference attended by a number of officials, touristy experts, Arab ambassadors and public personalities that the center grants its prizes to promote and encourage Arab touristy cadres, highlights the Arab touristy cities and spread the touristy media culture. The nomination to the prize witnessed a fierce competition, he said, adding that an arbitration committee from a number of experts in the field of media and information was assigned to evaluate the bidding works and choose the winners. The giving away ceremony of the prize will be held later at an Arab country, he said. Today's ceremony was held as part of the Arab Touristy Media Caravan, organized by the center, and attracted 22 journalists from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and Oman. The gathering was briefed on the Jordanian touristy characteristics and shown most important touristy sites in Amman, Dead Sea, Jarash and other touristy landmarks.
