AMMAN: The Jordan Festival of Arab Media being held here is expected to award Dr. Abdul Aziz Khoja, Saudi Arabia's Minister of Culture and Information, with the “Man of the Media” prize, which is usually awarded to the most prominent media figures in the Arab world. Samir Al-Rifai, the Jordanian Prime Minister, will attend the event, which takes place at the Hayat Hotel in Amman today. Dr. Amjd Al-Qadi, Director General of the Radio and Television Authority, and Chairman of the Higher Committee of the festival, said the basic objective of the event is to build bridges of understanding between media houses and Arab radio and television stations. He said the importance of the festival lies in growing tourism in Jordan and opening channels of cooperation between Arab producers.
