Jordanian Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh on Sunday updated the Lower House's foreign affairs committee on regional developments and Jordan's policies regarding these. He said that Jordan would utilize its membership of the U.N. Security Council to serve domestic, Arab and regional issues. He also briefed lawmakers on the U.S.-sponsored Palestinian-Israeli peace talks, reiterating that an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital is a higher Jordanian interest as Jordan had vital interests in all final status issues - Jerusalem, security, water, borders and refugees.
