Directors General of news agencies of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member States concluded here today their 17th meeting with the adoption of recommendations of the 8th meeting of the technical committee in preparation for submission them to the GCC Ministers of Culture and Information during their next meeting due to be held in Bahrain. At their meeting, officials of the GCC news agencies agreed on a proposal submitted by the Kingdom of Bahrain to create a website that could include all the social networking services to be in the framework of the GCC news Agencies' consolidated website, which to be launched soon. On the proposal submitted by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) on the re-evaluation of social networking websites of GCC news agencies, especially the consolidated website, the conferees stressed the importance of this proposal calling for re-evaluating it. Also, the SPA welcomed and expressed willingness to organize and hold a special workshop on editing programs /multimedia/ over the next year in coordination with the General Secretariat of the cultural and media affairs sector. With regard to the joint photo sharing site / FTP /, the conferees highly valued the efforts of the Saudi Press Agency through its continuous follow-up with the competent authorities of the GCC news agencies for implementing and establishing the FTP program for the exchange of photos among GCC news agencies. Concluding their meeting, the participants expressed their thanks to and appreciation of the Board Chairman and Director General of Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) Sheikh Mubarak Al-Duaij Al-Ibrahim Al-Sabah for hosting the meeting in Kuwait and the warm reception and hospitality according to them.
