Officials of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) news agencies will hold their 16th meeting tomorrow at the headquarters of the Secretariat General of the GCC. The meeting will discuss a number of topics relating to cooperation of GCC news agencies, in addition to a number of proposals from Member States agencies, including a proposal to launch the GCC News Agencies Union, and Bahrain's Award on the performance of GCC news agencies. The meeting will also discuss a proposal to approve the final design of the GCC news agencies electronic website, choose the host of the website, re-evaluate the social contact sites and research and information centers in addition to a proposal to hold periodical joint symposia for editing and other related topics, study the media impact of the GCC member countries' news agencies as well as exchange of expertise in the field of systems and recovery of information. The meeting is also set to review a report by the GCC secretariat general on activation and implementation of the GCC joint media work strategy in the field of news agencies. --SPA
