Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense, chaired the Cabinet's session at Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah on Monday afternoon . The Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohieddin Khoja said in a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA) following the session that the Cabinet was briefed on a number of reports on the developments of events in the region and the world, and the various international efforts on the repercussions of the Syrian crisis. The Cabinet stressed in this context that the refusal of the Syrian regime of all sincere and serious attempts and its insistence on the horrific massacres against its own people require an international firm and serious position to stop such human tragedies against the Syrian people. The Cabinet stressed the statement issued by the Ministerial Council of the Arab League at its emergency meeting in Cairo and its condemnation of severe and heinous crime committed by the Syrian regime's use of chemical weapons in defiance and disregard for moral, humanitarian and international values, norms and laws. The Cabinet affirmed also the Ministerial Council's call for the international community to assume its responsibilities by taking deterrent necessary procedures to put an end to violations and the crimes of genocide carried out by the Syrian regime over two years ago, and that any opposition to any international action can only constitute an encouragement to the Damascus regime to move forward in its crimes and the use of weapons of mass destruction available to it before the eyes and ears of the world. The Cabinet renewed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's position to stand wholeheartedly with the will of the Syrian people and their leadership represented by the national coalition. --More 15:20 LOCAL TIME 12:20 GMT تغريد
