Prince Fahd bin Abdullah bin Mohammed, President of General Authority for Civil Aviation and Chairman of the Board of Directors of General Organization for Saudi Arabian Airlines "Saudia", chaired the Board's meeting here yesterday. The meeting discussed the modernization of Saudia's fleet of aircraft, the development of information technology, and improvement of services provided to passengers. Addressing the meeting, the Director General of the General Organization for Saudi Arabian Airlines, Eng. Khalid bin Abdullah Al-Melhem, said that the Organization has received 65 modern aircraft during the phase of the strategic plan to modernize the fleet so that the system of modern aircraft that had been contracted to purchase and lease 90 aircraft, will be completed in the coming years. Before the start of the meeting, Prince Fahd bin Abdullah bin Mohammed patronized the signing of the privatization agreement of Saudi Airlines Company for Engineering and Aviation Industry and the selling of 30% of the value of the company to Tarabut Limited Company for Aircraft Maintenance, a subsidiary of Integrated Transport Company. The agreement was signed by Prince Sultan bin Mohammed bin Saud Al-Kabeer, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Integrated Transport Company, and Eng. Khalid bin Abdullah Al-Melhem, the Director General for the General Organization for Saudi Arabian Airlines.
