Prince Fahd bin Abdullah bin Mohammed, President of Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of Board of Directors of Saudi Arabian Airlines Organization "Saudia'' patronized here Tuesday evening the ceremony of Saudia's accession to SkyTeam, the second largest alliance of airlines in the world. The global alliance offers its passengers access to 14,700 daily flights operated by the alliance's member airlines to 958 destinations in 173 countries, said the Director General of Saudi Arabian Airlines, Khalid Al-Melhem in a speech on the occasion. He said this alliance will have a positive impact in the field of operation and increase the number of passengers and improve the services for Saudi Arabian Airlines and all the SkyTeam allied companies. " It will also facilitate in serving pilgrims and Umrah performers in many countries around the world," he added. On this occasion, Prince Fahd bin Abdullah bin Mohammed unveiled two Saudia aircraft decorated with the SkyTeam livery in the presence of top executives of alliance member airlines. “We are confident that this meeting would herald a big turning point in the history of SkyTeam,” the Prince said, addressing the ceremony at King Abdulaziz International Airport. --MORE
