The Secretary General of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) States, Dr Abdullatif Al-Zayani, stressed that the GCC relations with Egypt are based on the ties of kinship and common history, pointing out that it is a strategic relationship based on the solid ground of identical political viewpoints, broad economic interests and social and cultural cohesion. He said in an interview published today in Cairo that the GCC countries will always be supportive to Egypt in all circumstances and times. The GCC Secretary General considered the interference of Hezbollah in the fighting on the side of the Syrian regime as a serious development that causes more death, destruction and displacement of people. Dr. Al-Zayani considered the GCC decision on Hezbollah as a practical expression of condemnation of the practices of Hezbollah in Syria and Lebanon, noting that the actions to be taken by the GCC countries against followers of Hezbollah in the GCC countries affect their residency or financial transactions and business.
