Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, today strongly Condemned Israel's decision to ratify the construction of 1,100 new housing units in the occupied city of Al-Quds. In a press statement issued here this morning, he noted that the accelerated pace of settlement building comes in the context of the pursuit of the Israeli occupation to impose new facts on the ground in order to isolate the city of Al-Quds from its Palestinian surroundings. He explained that the continuation of Israeli settlement activity eliminates the two-state solution, stressing that the issue of Al-Quds comes on top of the priorities of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. Prof. Ihsanoglu stressed that all settlement activities are illegal and are a flagrant violation of international law and the resolutions of international legitimacy, calling on the international community to shoulder its direct responsibilities to put an end to Israel's settlement policy in all the occupied Palestinian territories, including Al-Quds.
