Awwal 01, 1432 H/April 05, 2011, SPA -- Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu strongly condemned the Israeli government decision to build (942) settlement housing units in Al-Quds, considering the continued expansion of Jewish settlements in the city a serious act of aggression and an open war against the Palestinian people and their legitimate rights. Prof. Ihsanoglu stressed that Israel's continued illegal practices, which aim to isolate Al-Quds from its surroundings, and to create new facts on the ground through the building of settlements, land confiscation, house demolitions, the expulsion of Palestinians and enhancing the policies of judaization, considering it a blatant challenge to international law and international legitimacy resolutions and Geneva Conventions. The OIC Secretary General also urged the Quartet and the international community to intervene to stop all forms of settlement as affecting the rights of the Palestinian people.
