A total of 3388 Syrian refugees, mainly children, women and the elderly, including 39 injured refugees, crossed into Jordan over the past four days. A Jordan Armed Forces source said Jordanian troops, mainly border guards stationed along the 370-kilometre border between Jordan and Syria, received the refugees and escorted them to an area prepared by the Armed Forces, the source said. The border guards assisted the incoming refugees and provided emergency aid to the injured before sending them to the refugee camp in Mafraq, Jordan News Agency (Petra) quoted the source as saying.
