AlHijjah 26, 1433, Nov 11, 2012, SPA - The Heads and Governors of Civil Retirement and Social Insurance Agencies of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) States held their second meeting here today. Addressing the meeting, the Minister of Finance Dr. Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz Al-Assaf said that the meeting is the first one following the announcement of the initiative of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud at Riyadh summit held in December last year, in which the King called for transferring the Council from the stage of cooperation to the Union. Dr. Assaf commended the efforts of the heads and governors in the development of a unified system to extend insurance protection, which has become a mainstay in GCC joint actions, aiming at economic and social stability in the GCC States.
