AlHijjah 18, 1432, Nov 14, 2011, SPA -- The Governor of the General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI), Soliman bin Saad Al-Humayyd will head GOSI delegation to the 11th meeting of the heads of civil retirement and social insurance agencies of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states to be held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, during the period 20-22 November 2011. Speaking on this occasion, the Governor said that the meeting comes within the framework of enhancing cooperation among GCC civil retirement and social insurance agencies in addition to providing insurance protection for the citizens of GCC member states. Al-Humayyd pointed out that the meeting will discuss the developments in implementing "The Unified Law of Insurance Protection Extension to GCC Citizens Working in other GCC Member States." The meeting will also follow-up the implementation of the decisions issued by the heads of civil retirement and social insurance agencies during their previous meeting. It is noteworthy that until the end of October 2011, the number of Saudi workers in GCC member states covered under the social insurance scheme in accordance with the Unified Law reached 1611. In terms of the number of registered contributors, the State of Kuwait was ranked first (1147), followed by the Kingdom of Bahrain (216), the United Arab Emirates (107), the State of Qatar (103) and the Sultanate of Oman (38).
