IAEA Elects Kingdom for Chairing Committee of The Whole of Its General Conference

AlQa'dah 1, 1433, Sep 17, 2012, SPA -- Dr. Tareq bin Mohammed Shukri, representative of King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy (KACARE) to the 56th International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) General Conference was unanimously elected as Chairperson of the Committee of the Whole of IAEA General Conference which began here today.
Dr. Hashim bin Abdullah Yamani, President of KACARE and Head of Saudi delegation to the conference, said that electing the Kingdom unanimously by the international community came as an appreciation of the Kingdom's balanced policy and stances at regional and international arenas in the field of energy.
He added that this election came within the framework of establishing relationship with the international agency in serving of the national program of the Kingdom in developing resources of the sustainable energy.
