Awwal 19, 1432 H/Feb 22, 2011, SPA -- The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of France signed today a bilateral agreement for cooperation in the field of the development of peaceful uses of nuclear energy. The agreement stipulates the promoting of opportunities for cooperation between the two countries within the framework of international treaties relating to safety and non-proliferation. It also provides the institutions of both countries with a solid cooperation in the area of production, use and transfer of knowledge related to the peaceful uses of nuclear energy. The Convention was signed at the headquarters of King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy (KACARE) here by Dr. Hashim bin Abdullah Yamani, President of KACARE from the Saudi side and Eric Besson, Minister of Industry and Energy from the French side.
