Jordanian King Abdullah II met here today with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. During the meeting, the Jordanian King reiterated the centrality of the Palestinian issue, stressing that the international community should shoulder its responsibility and bring momentum back to the peace process despite the current developments in the region. He also highlighted the need to enhance Palestinian unity to achieve this objective. The two leaders also discussed steps that should be taken to confront Israeli policies that hamper peace efforts and the establishment of an independent and viable Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Al-Quds as its capital.
