Jordanian King Abdullah II on Monday discussed with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas efforts underway to overcome obstacles to resumption of Palestinian-Israeli peace talks that address all final status issues and bring about an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders. King Abdullah II stressed that the recent Palestinian reconciliation is a positive step to unite the Palestinian people and restore and achieve its legitimate rights at the forefront of which is an independent state. King Abdullah II briefed Abbas on the outcome of his recent visit to the United States.
