King Abdullah II of Jordan received here today U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs Jeffrey Feltman. During the meeting, they discussed the latest developments in the Arab region in addition to means to cement Jordanian-U.S. ties in various fields. King Abdullah II reiterated that the United States and the world community needed to step up efforts to overcome hurdles blocking resumption of Palestinian-Israeli peace talks to arrive at the two-state solution. The King also told visiting Jeffrey Feltman that a peace deal should lead to an independent state on the 1967 borders.
