A 4.8-magnitute earthquake shook Bantul district in Yogyakarta province on Thursday night. The epicenter of the quake which struck at 09.54 p.m. was in the Indian Ocean 115 km south of the district capital Bantul at a depth of 15 km, ANTARA quoted head of the data and information section at the Yogyakarta provincial geophysics station Toni A Wijaya as saying on Thursday. The quake was not significant enough to trigger a tsunami, he said. He said the temblor was felt by people living in Bantul and environs at II-III on the Modified Mercalli scale.
