JEDDAH — Knights outscored Leylati 120-104 in the PEAK-JBL Basketball Tournament at the Al-Baik basketball court here recently.
The winner showed heart in the dying minutes of the game to take the match away from its rival. David top-scored with 38 points for the Knights and was adjudged the PEAK Sodas Sports Player of the Game. Hugo netted 37 points for the loser.
The tournament is sponsored by PEAK Sodas Sports and Shoe Arena with co-sponsors Mandhoubiyah Islamic Propagation Office, Jeddah Dawah Center, Deepvision Advertising Company and Bro Mousa Ignacio.
Manila Hotdog of Loue defeated UDG 82-51. Olasiman with his no-fear drives to the basket had 16 points for Manila and was named the JBL Player of the Game. Camartin led the losing side with 12 points.
Khalidia Knights beat Gensoul 91-86. Khalidia Knights seemed to have lost steam in the fourth quarter, but Gensoul failed to get the most out of it as it missed crucial baskets and committed back-to-back passing errors. George contributed 24 points for the winner and was adjudged the PEAK Sodas Sports Player of the Game. Naluz scored 19 points for the loser.
In Thursday's matches, STC of coach Randy Tuazon defeated BUPA 81-71. Lee top-scored with 28 points for the winner and was named the JBL Player of the Game, while Ruben Del Rosario had 23 points for the losing side.
Avengers of playing coach George Feliciano downed Tropang Bakhs 94-89. Vega chipped in with 23 points for the winner and was claimed the PEAK Sodas Sports Player of the Game honors. Encabo led the loser with 32 points.
Khalidia Tambayz of coach Ronnie Carino thrashed Blazers 102-84. Garcia scored 30 points for the winner and was adjudged the JBL Player of the Game. Veneracion top-scored for Blazers with 21 points.
