GNP, Al-Salam Hospital in JBL semifinals

JEDDAH — Al-Salam Hospital team of coach Yousuf Almeda beat Al-Hayat Hospital 92-89 in the Mandhoubiyah-PEAK Basketball Tournament at Khalidia basketball court here recently.

Al-Salam played its offense well in the dying seconds and maintained a higher percentage conversion. San Antonio chipped in with 44 points for the winner and was adjudged JBL best player of the game and won a Tony Parker jersey, courtesy of PEAK. Alonto scored 28 points for the loser.

This tournament is mainly sponsored by Mandhoubiyah Islamic Propagation Office. The co-sponsors are PEAK Sodas Sports and Shoe Arena, ABS-CBN - The Filipino Channel and Al-Haddaf Sportsware (Bayoumi).

GNP–Asnan Est. of coach Ronnie Carino scored over SGH–Blazers 96-92 for a clean 3-0 slate in the elimination round. The winner displayed good defense in the crucial minutes of the game. The loser tried hard but missed important baskets in the end game. Calaunan topscored with 25 points for the winner and was named PEAK Sodas Sports best player of the game and received a Tony Parker jersey. Jasper made 28 points for the losers.

Al-Mostaqbal Hospital team of coach Marlon Peralta defeated Erfan Hospital 125-110. The winner was unstoppable in its offense in the whole game. Ninz Misa collected 49 points for the winner and was selected as the JBL best player. He won a Tony Parker jersey. Zapanta displayed excellent shooting skills and poured in 41 points for the loser.
