RIYADH — Bazm e Riaz bid farewell to Head of Chancery at Pakistan Embassy Abbas Sarwar Qureshi, who is leaving the Kingdom on Tuesday upon successful completion of his tenure here. Bazm e Riaz presented Qureshi with an “Award of Honor” in appreciation of his exemplary services to the community. “The Pakistani community in Saudi Arabia has benefited from his outstanding services as the head of chancery,” said Bazm President Riaz Rathore while presenting the award. Bazm Secretary-General Tasadduq Gilani described Qureshi as a diplomat par excellence. Waqar Naseem Wamiq appreciated the efforts made by Qureshi, especially the publication of embassy's magazine “Halaat e Nou” during his tenure which proved to be very helpful for the community. Qureshi thanked Bazm e Riaz for arranging the special farewell party in his honor and shared his memories of his sojourn in Saudi Arabia. “I feel quite blessed that I had spent a memorable time in Riyadh and I am looking forward to serve my country in a greater manner. Pak-Saudi relations are at their best,” he said. “Pakistani expatriates in the Kingdom will continue to enjoy speedy services from the embassy under the able leadership of Ambassador Manzoor ul Haq,” Qureshi said. Among those attended the farewell were Shafiq Khawaja, Naqi Hassan, Tanvir Mian, Sarhan Mustafa, Adeel Hassan, Zahid Rana and Hassan Mehdi. Members of Bazm e Riaz jointly presented him a gift as a memento. In a traditional way of respect President of Bazm e Riaz Mohammad Riaz Rathore feted Abbas Qureshi with a Sindhi cap and ajrak. — SG
