JEDDAH — Four people died and 17 were injured after a fire broke out in a cable factory. Makkah Civil Defense spokesman Col. Saeed Sarhan said the fire broke out on the third floor of the six-story factory. The fire spread rapidly, with four victims on the fourth floor dying from smoke inhalation. Sarhan added the Civil Defense managed to evacuate 17 people, all suffering from various injuries. The majority of victims were treated on the spot, with three sent to a local hospital. The Civil Defense extinguished the fire but police are still investigating the cause of the fire.
