MADINAH — Police arrested a gang of Africans suspected of committing several thefts against expatriates. Acting spokesman for Madinah Police Capt. Abdulilah Al-Jabry said the police received several reports from expatriates of having their wallets and cell phones stolen by a gang of Africans. The gang had a strategy of offering transport to expatriates, with one member as the driver while the rest pretending to be passengers. After driving some way, the vehicle would pull over and the driver yell for everyone to get out and hand over their belongings. Everyone, including the gang member, would hand over their belongings. The gang would then climb back into the vehicle and drive off, leaving the victims stranded. The police arrested the gang and after investigations, they discovered it had carried out other thefts in Riyadh, Jeddah, Madinah and Qassim. The case is currently under investigation.
