JEDDAH — The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Jeddah Police arrested a three-member gang that robbed an expatriate in south Jeddah. The expatriate was stopped by one of the gang members as he was walking on a subsidiary road in south Jeddah and asked for help with an address. The man then threatened to harm him if he did not hand over his cell phone and wallet. The expatriate attempted to flee, but the man grabbed him. Two other men joined him and they robbed the man before attacking him with a sharp tool. The victim was struck on the head and was taken to a nearby hospital by passersby. Police received a report of the incident and made sketches of the alleged culprits. A man from an African country who matched the description the victim had given was soon apprehended and brought before the victim who identified him. The other gang members were apprehended based on information provided by the African.
