JEDDAH — Gulbarga Charitable and Welfare Trust (GCWT) Jeddah Chapter organized an Iftar Party at the residence of Mirza Azam Baig. Members of the trust from Gulbarga and different parts of the country participated. Syed Nasir Khursheed, vice president of the trust, highlighted the aims and objectives of the trust. Saleem Khalifa, general secretary of the trust, in his speech focused on the importance of charity and zakat as this is meant for us to balance the status of the society. President Mirza Azam Baig explained the system of functioning of the trust and highlighted the performance of the trust since its inception and the charitable activities performed. He thanked all the members for their contribution to the trust. Mohammed Arifuddin, president of the GCWT Rabigh chapter, expressed gratitude for the invitation and praised the efforts of Jeddah Chapter. “We being affiliated with the Jeddah chapter are committed to help in all the initiatives taken by Jeddah chapter for the welfare of poor and needy people,” he added. Syed Hazrath Quadri, executive member, described the GCWT as a non-political non-governmental organization and said it has been serving the cause of humanity. Abdul Waheed, treasurer of the trust, explained how Eid ration packages are being distributed to the poor and needy people before the festival with the intention that the less fortunate people too can celebrate Eid with fervor. Mirza Layeeq Baig, executive member, welcomed the guests coming from Rabigh and Makkah, while Sajid Shaikh, joint secretary, thanked all the guests for attending the event.
