Rosewood Jeddah celebrates Hijazi Ramadan
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 30 - 06 - 2015

THE Middle East's leading luxury hotel, Rosewood Jeddah, is celebrating the holy month by highlighting the traditional Saudi Arabian culture through a Hijazi themed Ramadan celebration.
The multi award-winning hotel will immerse guests and visitors in Saudi culture as speciality restaurants Habsburg and Noodles are lavishly decorated with artefacts of Hijaz, including the beautiful Fanous (lanterns), Mashrabiya windows and traditional handicrafts.
Rosewood Jeddah is transformed into a traditional Layali Hijazia setting, providing guests with a truly memorable and special Ramadan experience.
Supported by partners, The First Group, Platinum Magazine, Alam Arrajol Magazine, Arab News and EgyptAir, visitors to the hotel will be transported into a world full of charm and opulence during Iftar and Sohour.
“We are excited to create the Hijazi theme throughout the hotel at this special time of year,” said Hans-Peter Leitzke, Managing Director of Rosewood Jeddah.
“Our Ramadan celebrations at Rosewood Jeddah are always highly anticipated by our guests and we are delighted to recreate the authentic local charm that will treat Jeddah residents to the ultimate Ramadan experience.”
The landmark Jeddah property pays special attention to details, replicating traditional souks and bazaars throughout the hotel to create an essence of the old streets in the region of Hijaz.
Staff members from both Noodles and Habsburg will wear traditional Hijazi dress to greet diners while offering Zamzam water, a traditional drink in Jeddah during the holy month.
The hotel's main two restaurants also feature delicious buffets of authentic Hijazi cuisine such as gursan, jeraish, mento, lamb kabsa, and yaghmosh, along with traditional Arabic delights for Iftar.
Habsburg features its range of live cooking stations serving up International and local dishes such as saj, shawarma, lamb and beef liver, egg omelettes, and foul madamas for Suhour.
Traditional Hijazi juices such as Jellab, Vimto, Kamar Eldin, Laban and Tamer hindi will also be served to the guests.
Amjad Yousef Al Ghandoor, Executive Chef at Rosewood Jeddah, said: “Our highly trained team of culinary experts from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Syria, China, Philippines, India and Pakistan will be working hard to bring our guests a multicultural gastronomic experience to remember.”
“As new members of the team, Executive Sous Chef Tahir Guneysu and I include our Levantine culinary background by incorporating some tasty treats from Jordanian and Turkish traditional cuisine to add interest in this year's Ramadan dishes.”
The hotel will offer group booking options for Iftar or Sohour for gatherings up to 200 persons at Habsburg, Noodles and Ginza I Chome restaurants.
Guests have the privilege to enjoy a more exclusive Iftar experience in private dining area. The Jouri (Majlis Room) offers a traditional tent style for 10 persons while the Malaki Lounge can accommodate up to 25 persons.
The Iftar buffet offers two options at SR300 and SR285 per person while the Sohour buffet is SR280 per person, inclusive of Ramadan juices, imported mineral water, soft drink and Arabic coffee. — SG
