Italian Food Festival at Rosewood Corniche will offer a variety of original dishes, based on authentic ingredients brought straight from Italy especially for the occasion.
JEDDAH's premier luxury hotel Rosewood Corniche is set to take diners on a culinary tour of one of the world's best-loved cuisines with its new two-week long Italian Food Festival, starting Jan. 15, 2013. Under the guidance of Italian Chef Massimo Larosa, an early age traditional pasta specialist who is flying into the Kingdom from Genoa, the team at Rosewood Corniche's Habsburg restaurant will prepare scrumptious Italian food from live cooking stations representing four of the richest Italian regions: Liguria, Sicily, Campania, and Tuscany. The luxury hotel will offer a variety of original dishes, based on authentic ingredients brought straight from Italy especially for the occasion. Extra virgin olive oil, authentic Parmesan cheese, and the famous Arborio rice will act as the basis for a range of dishes from Sicilian street food to homemade pasta, pizza, and sweets. Prices for the festival are at SR185 per person. Visitors to the festival will be able to watch their pasta made from scratch, prepare their own pizzas, watch homemade risotto come to life and enjoy the very best seafood and complete their meals with a range of sumptuous Italian sweets. “Saudis are very curious when it comes to gastronomy, which is why I am introducing them to traditional recipes they have not tried before” said Chef Larosa. “What is special about the festival is that we have selected the very best ingredients so that our guests can understand the authentic flavors of Italy. “I cannot wait to see how Jeddah residents will react to “Pesto alla Genovese” and “Corzetti pasta” from Liguria, “Arancini” and “Caponata” from Sicily, authentic “Capmania Pizza”, and “Bruschetta” and “Risotto” from Tuscany. Hans-Peter Leitzke, Managing Director at Rosewood Corniche added, “Our aim of the Italian food festival is to offer guests the chance to experience new tastes while fulfilling their desire for well prepared and quality selection of dishes.” Last year, hundreds of diners visited the Italian festival at Rosewood Corniche and were fascinated by the charm of the European country, enjoyed soothing Italian music and elaborate decorations while live cooking displays revealed gastronomic secrets from the old country. Sponsored by Maserati Cars and Gulf Air, the second edition of the Italian festival is a unique opportunity for Jeddah residents and visitors looking forward living a pure Italian experience in one of the most stunning red sea landscapes. Designed for both business and leisure travellers, Rosewood Corniche is ideally positioned on Jeddah's Corniche, one of the city's most impressive districts. The celebrated Jeddah Corniche runs parallel to the Red Sea for over 32 kilometers and provides convenient access to the city's business and leisure areas. As the premier hotel in Jeddah, the stunning Rosewood Corniche redefines modern elegance and offers unparalleled personal service and world-class amenities, including 24-hour butler service for each of the 127 guest rooms and suites. — SG
