SCORES of Jeddah residents and visitors have gathered at the city's most luxurious hotel this Ramadan to celebrate Iftar and Sohour with family and friends. Rosewood Corniche has undergone its biggest makeover yet by transforming into Layali Hijazia for the holy month of Ramadan and for the first time, two of the hotel's restaurants have been decorated with artefacts of Hijaz, such as beautiful Fanous (lanterns) and traditional handicrafts to re-create the quintessential charm and treat guests to an entirely new experience. Hans-Peter Leitzke, Managing Director at Rosewood Corniche, said "the Hijazi theme has influenced the growth of our Ramadan business; our restaurant has already seen a 76 per cent increase in the number of diners compared to last year." "The response so far has been overwhelmingly positive and it's a testament to the creativity and high attention to detail displayed by our team that guests are recommending Rosewood to their family and friends as the ideal venue for hosting an Iftar party. Ramadan is always such a special time in the hotel and this year we are enjoying a particularly good atmosphere." A highly trained team of culinary experts work around the clock to prepare authentic Hijazi iftars, including gursan, jeraish, arika, moutabaq, mento, oat soup (Shourbat Hab), balila and fermoza, along with a sumptuous selection of international fare. The iftar buffet at Habsburg costs SR285 net per person which includes a variety of special Ramadan drinks and juices. The Hijazi theme has delighted guests and received a flurry of comments on popular social networking websites such as Facebook and Twitter. The holy month is being celebrated throughout the entire hotel as the property continues to reinforce its position as a focal point in Jeddah for family and friends to meet. For the first time, iftar and sohour are offered at Noodles daily from sunset until 3:00am. Rosewood Corniche has partnered with luxurious brands in preparation for their Ramadan celebrations. On arrival at the hotel, guests will be greeted by an impressive display of luxury Rolls Royce models, while Swiss-Lebanese jewelry designer, Mouawad Jewellery will line up to display their latest collections throughout the Holy Month. – SG
