Hasanat smashes a century

JEDDAH — Hasanat of Harsco Baroom hit a century in the Morning Modern Pioneer Summer Cup, organized by WPCA and sponsored by Modern Pioneer Company. The tourney has reached quarterfinals and matches will resume after the holy month of Ramadan.

In the first match, Cousin-XI thrashed Awesome-XI by 5 wickets. Awesome-XI posted 111-7 as Patil hit an unbeaten 55 in 47 balls. Irfan took 3-9 and Mujahid 2-22.

Cousin-XI reached 112-5 in 86 balls as Zahid hammered 44, Irfan Hameed 23 and Shahid 24.

One of the quarterfinalists Mercedes Benz had the last laugh against SFCC by 60 runs. Mercedes Benz piled up 178-7 through Jibran (27), Amir Shahzad (29) and Amratullah (35). Abdul Karim had 2-23 and Tariq 2-43.

SFCC managed 118-7 as Hafeez Shahzad stroked 21 and Ahmed 61 in 26 balls. Saim took 2-19 and Amir 2-23.

Royal Brothers got the better of Deloitte by 8 wickets. Deloitte put on 101-8. Irfan top scored with 31. Shoaib claimed 3-16 and Tabrez 2-7. Royal Brothers was home, making 103-2 in 71 balls. Abdullah scored 43.

Group topper Harsco Baroom humbled Hanifa Tigers by 100 runs. Harsco Baroom racked up 203-3, powered by Hasanat who scored 108 in 48 balls with 18 fours and 3 sixes. He added 108 with Armaghan (43). Omar took 2-67. Hanifa Tigers, in reply, succumbed to 103. Kashif made 19 and Faisal 43. Qazzafi claimed 3-23.

A consistent Al-Mazroi-XI beat Stallions by 68 runs. Mazroi-XI piled up 167-4 through Farook (35), Faisal (20) and Sohail (59 not out in 21 balls). Waqas took 2-40. Stallions was bowled out for 99. Abdulrehman scored 36. Sufiyan Laheri grabbed 4-16, Saqib 2-3 and Mobin 2-8.

Tata Motors continued its good performance to reach last eight. It edged past QRCC by one wicket. QRCC posted 147-8 as Sadiq Memon hit 18 and Zahid 48. Shoukath took 2-19, Fahim 2-30 and Irfan 2-35. Tata Motors was home, making with 148-9. Faisal compiled 36 and Noor Khan 51 with 7 boundaries. Shoaib took 3-18 and Usman 2-33.
Indian Knight Riders were declared winner against Johnson Control.

The performance of Al-Saudi-XI this summer has been exceptional. Saudi-XI thrashed Nesma Holding by 64 runs. It piled up 181-8 as prolific Mazhar Abbasi hammered 95 in 45 balls with 3 sixes and 10 fours. Kamran made 30. Two wickets each were claimed by Zafar (2-36), Sadaqat (2-31) and Kavinda (2-40). Nesma Holding, in reply, forfeited the match at 107 in the 17th over.

Kabbani Group crushed Rehab Riders by 59 runs. Kabbani Cricket Group made 124-9. Faisal R hit 26 and Fiaz remained unbeaten on 41. Maqsood took 3-19, Tanveer 3-13 and Shamraiz 2-13. Rehab Riders was bundled out for 65. Amjed scored 20. Raqeeb claimed 3-3, Ali 2-14, Asad 2-17 and Khalil 2-18.
